In October 2008, Global Insight, Inc. released a study showing
approximately 750,000 people employed in what can be considered as
green jobs. This makes up less than one percent of the total employment
in this field. It is anticipated that by 2038, 4.2 million green jobs
will be added to alternative energy, accounting for 10 percent of new
job growth over the next 30 years.
To meet this growing need ETA International has released two career track certification pathways in alternative energy technology.
Both certifications are comprised of three degrees of completion; entry level, mid‐level, and advanced level.
ETA International offers one of the largest solar photovoltaic training and instructor certification programs in America. Over the past 31 years, ETA International has issued over 100,000 technical certifications covering more than 50 certification programs in a variety of training fields and is one of the most recognized training course certification programs in the world.
ETA International has more than 3,500 members, has more 700 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) serving on various Industry Advisory Committees and works with over 1,000 Exam/Certification Administrators (CAs). In order to maintain the highest and most up-to-date information on assessment programs, ETA officials participate in industry groups such as ICAC, NCEE, NSSB, ITC, NCC, other voluntary partnerships and at military educator conferences.
ETA typically offers its certification exams on a demand basis rather than scheduled dates for added convenience. ETA exams are available at more than 900 permanent public and proprietary educational institutions, nonpermanent locations such as libraries, colleges and penal institutions, and at U.S. Military base education offices. ETA also offers electronics certification exams online for added convenience.
