The online learning education certificate consists of a 9-week foundation course and a variety of electives or learning specializations that focus on improving overall competency within a specific area of academic focus. The Sloan-C Certificate foundation online learning education program costs $1499 plus three (3) required electives; priced at $345 (10-day workshop) or $495 (3-week workshop). Elective online learning education workshops, which should be registered for individually, may be funded by coupons available through Sloan-C membership discounts and the Sloan-C College Pass professional development package. Discounts and coupons may not be applied to the cost of the online learning education Certificate foundation.

PREREQUISITE: To register for the Sloan-C Certificate you must either already have taught online at least one semester OR you can take the Sloan-C workshop Getting Started: The First Step Toward Online Teaching.

Each online learning education candidate studies with a mentor and a small cohort of peers during the foundation course, a nine-week sequence of activities that include:

• Using technologies for building your individual online teaching portfolio
  Consulting with your online learning education mentor to develop a learning plan that matches your context and portfolio goals
   
• Developing your online learning education course and receiving incremental feedback on it from peers and mentors
   
• Applying quality metrics to online learning education
   
• Preparing to use new insights from elective online learning education workshops, peers and mentor
